DISTRICT COURT AREAS (VARIATION OF DAYS AND HOURS) (NO. 5) ORDER, 1979.

I, GERARD COLLINS, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 26 (1) of the Courts of Justice Act, 1953 (No. 32 of 1953), and after consultation with the President of the District Court, hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the District Court Areas (Variation of Days and Hours) (No. 5) Order, 1979.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of September, 1979.

2. In this Order—

"the Order of 1973" means the District Court Areas (Variation of Days and Hours) (No. 4) Order, 1973 ( S.I. No. 288 of 1973 );

"the Principal Order" means the District Court (Areas) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 5 of 1961 ).

3. The days and hours for holding the District Court in the district court area of Maam shall, in lieu of the days and hours (as amended by the Order of 1973) specified in column (4) of the First Schedule to the Principal Order at reference No. 96, and in column (4) of the Second Schedule to that Order at reference number 84, be the fourth Tuesday in January, April, June and September at 11.00 a.m.

4. The hours for holding the District Court in the district court area of Carna shall, in lieu of the hours specified in column (4) of the First Schedule to the Principal Order at reference number 82, and in column (4) of the Second Schedule to that Order at reference number 72, be 11.00 a.m.

5. The hours for holding the District Court in the district court area of Clifden shall, in lieu of the hours specified in column (4) of the First Schedule to the Principal Order at reference number 83, and in column (4) of the Second Schedule to that Order at reference number 73, be 11.00 a.m.

6. The hours for holding the District Court in the district court area of Derrynea shall, in lieu of the hours specified in column (4) of the First Schedule to the Principal Order at reference number 85, and in column (4) of the Second Schedule to that Order at reference number 74, be 11.00 a.m.

7. The hours for holding the District Court in the district court area of Letterfrack shall, in lieu of the hours (as amended by the Order of 1973) specified in column (4) of the First Schedule to the Principal Order at reference number 94, and in column (4) of the Second Schedule to that Order at reference number 82, be 11.00 a.m.

8. Business transacted in the District Court which is initiated and is not completed before the commencement of this Order shall be continued and completed as if this Order had been in force at the time at which such business was initiated.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This order provides for a separate day for sittings of the District Court in Maam and for changes in the commencement times of Court sittings in Carna, Clifden, Derrynea and Letterfrack.
