EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (SURVEILLANCE OF SISAL BINDER TWINE IMPORTS) REGULATIONS, 1975.

I, JUSTIN KEATING, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), hereby make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Surveillance of Sisal Binder Twine Imports) Regulations, 1975.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 5th day of June, 1975.

2. The importation into the State of any goods referred to at tariff heading number 59.04-044 in the Schedule to the Imposition of Duties (No. 200) (Customs and Excise Duties and Form of Tariff) Order, 1972 ( S.I. No. 220 of 1972 ), and originating in a country other than another member State of the Community shall be subject to the production by the importer of an import authorisation issued by the Minister for Industry and Commerce.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of the Instrument is to enable the Minister for Industry and Commerce to impose a system of surveillance on imports into Ireland of sisal binder twine.
