ROAD TRAFFIC (SIGNS) (AMENDMENT) (No. 2) REGULATIONS, 1971. | ||
The Minister for Local Government, in exercise of the powers vested in him by section 5 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) and section 95 of the said Act as amended by section 6 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (No. 25 of 1968), hereby makes the following Regulations:— 1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Signs) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1971. | ||
(2) The Road Traffic (Signs) Regulations, 1962 to 1971, and these Regulations shall be construed together as one. | ||
(3) The citation " The Road Traffic (Signs) Regulations, 1962 to 1971" shall include these Regulations. 2. The First Schedule to the Road Traffic (Signs) Regulations, 1962 ( S.I. No. 171 of 1962 .) is hereby amended by the addition to Part VI of the following paragraph:— | ||
" 9. signs 204, 205 and 206 may be accompanied by a rectangular plate or a plate of the general shape of sign I which shall be placed below the sign and shall furnish in black letters on a white field information in regard to the prohibition, including the days and hours when the prohibition applies." | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. | ||
The Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Signs) Regulations, 1962 to 1971, to provide for the use of information plates to accompany signs 204, 205 and 206. |
