S.I. No. 214/1969 - Garda Síochána Pay Order, 1969.


I, MICHEÁL Ó MÓRÁIN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 12 of the Police Forces Amalgamation Act, 1925 (No. 7 of 1925), and section 1 of the Garda Síochána Act, 1958 (No. 14 of 1958), with the sanction of the Minister for Finance and after compliance with subsection (2) of the said section 12, hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Garda Síochána Pay Order, 1969.

(2) This Order shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of June, 1969.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.

3. The Garda Síochána Pay (No. 2) Order, 1958 ( S.I. No. 156 of 1958 ), shall have effect as if the rates and scales contained in the Schedule to this Order were substituted for the relevant rates and scales (inserted by the Garda Síochána Pay (No. 2) Order, 1968 ( S.I. No. 234 of 1968 ) and the Garda Síochána Pay (No. 3) Order, 1968 ( S.I. No. 286 of 1968 )) contained in Article 4.

Provided that the rate of pay applicable to men who have not reached the age of twenty-one years shall be the appropriate rate set out in this schedule less 5/- per week on appointment and during period of training and 5/5d thereafter.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.
