VOCATIONAL EDUCATION ACT, 1930 (GRANTS UNDER SECTION 109) REGULATIONS, 1939 (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1966.

I, DONOGH O'MALLEY, Minister for Education, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 109 of the Vocational Education Act, 1930 (No. 29 of 1930), hereby, with the consent of the Minister for Finance, make the following regulations :

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Vocational Education Act, 1930 (Grants under Section 109) Regulations, 1939 (Amendment) Regulations, 1966.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

3. In these Regulations " the Principal Regulations " means the Vocational Education Act, 1930 (Grants under Section 109) Regulations, 1939, ( S. R. & O. No. 386 of 1939 ).

4. (1) Regulation 7 of the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by—

(i) the substitution in paragraph (2) (a) of " tenpence " for " twopence ", and

(ii) the substitution in paragraph (2) (b) of " one shilling and threepence " for " tenpence " (inserted by the Vocational Education Act, 1930 (Grants under Section 109) Regulations, 1939 (Amendment) Regulations, 1960 ( S.I. No. 69 of 1960 )).

(2) (i) Paragraph 1 (i) of this Regulation shall have effect as respects the academic year which commenced on the 1st day of September, 1965, and every subsequent academic year.

(ii) Paragraph 1 (ii) of this Regulation shall have effect as respects the academic year which commenced on the 1st day of September, 1964, and every subsequent academic year.

5. (1) A grant of such amount as the Minister thinks fit towards the cost of providing improved accommodation may be made under section 109 of the Vocational Education Act, 1930 (No. 29 of 1930), to a school which is in receipt of maintenance grants under Part III of the Principal Regulations.

(2) A grant under paragraph (1) of this Regulation shall be paid in such manner as the Minister thinks fit.

(3) This Regulation shall remain in operation until the 1st day of April, 1967, and shall then cease to have effect unless previously revoked or continued by the Minister.
