AIR NAVIGATION AND TRANSPORT (FARES AND RATES) ORDER, 1963.

I, ERSKINE H. CHILDERS, Minister for Transport and Power, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 5 and 9 of the Air Navigation and Transport Act, 1946 (No. 23 of 1946), and the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1959 ), hereby order as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Air Navigation and Transport (Fares and Rates) Order, 1963.

2. (1) Operators of aircraft carrying passengers or goods for reward into the State from the United States of America or from the State to the United States of America shall charge in respect of such carriage such fares or rates as were determined by the International Air Transport Association at Chandler, Arizona, in the United States of America, in 1962.

(2) Paragraph (1) of this Article shall come into operation on the 25th day of May, 1963.

3. The Minister may give from time to time such directions for carrying out the purposes of this Order as he thinks appropriate to an operator of aircraft or operators of aircraft.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order prescribes that the fares and rates to be charged for the carriage of passengers and goods between Ireland and the United States of America shall be those determined by the International Air Transport Association at Chandler, Arizona, U.S.A., in 1962. It also provides that the Minister may issue directions as necessary in order to implement the Order.
