INSURANCE (INTERMITTENT UNEMPLOYMENT) ACT, 1942 (AMENDMENT OF RATES OF WEEKLY CONTRIBUTIONS AND SUPPLEMENTARY BENEFIT) REGULATIONS, 1963.

I, CAOIMHGHÍN Ó BEOLÁIN, Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the joint operation of section 46 of the Insurance (Intermittent Unemployment) Act, 1942 (No. 7 of 1942), and the Social Welfare (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) (No. 1) Order, 1947 ( S. R. & O. No. 18 of 1947 ), and with the concurrence of the Minister for Finance, hereby make the following regulations :—

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Insurance (Intermittent Unemployment) Act, 1942 (Amendment of Rates of Weekly Contributions and Supplementary Benefit) Regulations, 1963.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 26th day of August, 1963.

2. The Second Schedule to the Insurance (Intermittent Unemployment) Act, 1942 (No. 7 of 1942), as amended by the Insurance (Intermittent Unemployment) Act, 1942 (Amendment of Rates of Weekly Contributions) Regulations, 1956 ( S.I. No. 228 of 1956 ), is hereby amended—

(a) by substituting a weekly rate of contribution of 1s. 5d. for each such rate of 1s. 2d., and

(b) by substituting a weekly rate of contribution of 1s. 3d. for each such rate of 11d., and

(c) by substituting a weekly rate of contribution of 4d. for each such rate of 3d.

3. The Third Schedule to the Insurance (Intermittent Unemployment) Act, 1942 (No. 7 of 1942), as amended by the Insurance (Intermittent Unemployment) Act, 1942 (Amendment of Rates of Supplementary Benefit) Regulations, 1954 ( S.I. No. 290 of 1954 ), is hereby amended—

(a) by substituting an hourly rate of supplementary benefit of 3s. 4d. for the rate of 2s. 3d., and

(b) by substituting an hourly rate of supplementary benefit of 2s. 10d. for the rate of 1s. 6d., and

(c) by substituting an hourly rate of supplementary benefit of 1s. 0d. for the rate of 9d.
