LOCAL GOVERNMENT (SANITARY SERVICES) ACT, 1962 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1962

I, NEIL T. BLANEY, Minister for Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 14 of the Local Government (Sanitary Service) Act, 1962 (No. 26 of 1962) hereby orders as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Sanitary Services) Act, 1962 (Commencement) Order, 1962.

2. The 1st day of November, 1962, is hereby fixed as the day on which the provisions of the Local Government (Sanitary Services) Act, 1962 , specified in the Schedule to this Order shall come into operation.

SCHEDULE

Sections 1, 4 to 9, 11, 12, 14 and 15.

Section 13 and so much of the Schedule as repeals—

(i) paragraph (2) of section 61 of the Public Health (Ireland) Act, 1878,

(ii) section 66 and the words "to supply water by measure, and" in section 68 of that Act,

(iii) the incorporation by section 67 of that Act of sections 44 to 47 and 68 to 74 of the Waterworks Clauses Act, 1847, and of section 12 and 21 of the Waterworks Clauses Act, 1863,

(iv) section 18 of the Public Health Acts Amendment Act, 1890,

(v) subsection (1) of section 5 of the Public Health (Ireland) Act, 1896,

(vi) subsection (2) of section 21 of the Open Spaces Act, 1906,

(vii) sections 12 to 17 and 19 to 25 of the Local Government (Sanitary Services) Act, 1948 .

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into operation on 1st November, 1962 certain provisions of the Local Government (Sanitary Services) Act, 1962 (No. 26 of 1962).
