ROAD TRAFFIC ACT, 1961 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1961.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 2 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) hereby orders as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (Commencement) Order, 1961.

2. Section 10 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 shall come into operation on the 1st day of October, 1961 for the purpose of effecting the repeal of the enactments specified in Part II of the Schedule to this Order.

3. The provisions of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 specified in Part I of the Schedule to this Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of October, 1961.

PART I

Provisions of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 to come into operation on 1st October, 1961.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings into operation certain provisions of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) and repeals corresponding provisions of the Road Traffic Act, 1933 (No. 11 of 1933) on 1st October, 1961.
