FACTORIES (REPORT OF EXAMINATION OF AIR RECEIVERS) REGULATIONS, 1956.

I, WILLIAM NORTON, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in pursuance of subsection (7) of section 42 of the Factories Act, 1955 (No. 10 of 1955), hereby make the following regulations :

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Factories (Report of Examination of Air Receivers) Regulations, 1956.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of October, 1956.

2. The particulars to be contained in the report of the result of every examination and test of an air receiver under subsection (6) of section 42 of the Factories Act, 1955 (No. 10 of 1955), shall be the particulars specified in the Schedule to these Regulations.

SCHEDULE.

1. Name of Occupier of factory.

2. Address of factory.

3. Description and distinguishing mark of receiver and type of receiver.

4. Date of construction (if ascertainable) together with a brief history of the receiver.

5. Date of last hydraulic test (if any) and pressure applied.

6. Particulars as to—

(a) parts (if any) inaccessible at time of examination,

(b) the examination and tests made,

(c) condition of the receiver, including particulars of any defect materially affecting the safe working pressure.

7. Particulars as to whether the fittings and appliances are in accordance with the requirements of the Factories Act, 1955 , and whether they are properly maintained and in good condition.

8. Repairs (if any) required and the period within which they should be executed and any other conditions which the person making the examination thinks it necessary to specify for securing safe working.

9. (a) Safe working pressure calculated from dimensions and from the thickness and other data ascertained by the examination, due allowance being made for conditions of working if unusual or exceptionally severe ;

(b) where repairs affecting the safe working pressure are required, safe working pressure—

(i) before the expiration of the period specified in paragraph 8,

(ii) after the expiration of such period if the required repairs have not been completed,

(iii) after the completion of the required repairs.

10. The date of the examination and by whom it was carried out.
