MENTAL TREATMENT ACT, 1945 (DATE OF COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1946.

DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH.

MENTAL TREATMENT ACT, 1945 .

WHEREAS by section 2 of the Mental Treatment Act, 1945 , it is enacted that the said Act shall come into operation on such day or days as may be fixed therefor by order or orders of the Minister for Local Government and Public Health either generally or with reference to any particular purpose or provision and different days may be so fixed for different purposes and different provisions of the Act :

NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health in exercise of the powers so conferred on him hereby orders as follows :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Mental Treatment Act, 1945 (Date of Commencement) Order, 1946.

2. The Mental Treatment Act, 1945 , shall for all purposes come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1947.
