HORE ABBEY NATIONAL MONUMENT (PROHIBITION OF BURIALS) ORDER, 1942.

THE COMMISSIONERS OF PUBLIC WORKS IN IRELAND.

THE NATIONAL MONUMENTS ACT, 1930 .

WHEREAS—WE—THE COMMISSIONERS OF PUBLIC WORKS IN IRELAND—are Owners of the National Monument known as the Ruins of Hore Abbey, situated in the Townland of Horeabbey, Parish of Horeabbey, Barony of Middlethird and County of Tipperary, which National Monument is shown on the Map hereunto annexed and which said National Monument is an Ecclesiastical Building. AND WHEREAS—WE—as such Owners think it necessary to prohibit the Burial of the remains of deceased persons within the said National Monument or within such distance of the same as is hereinafter specified. NOW THEREFORE—WE—THE COMMISSIONERS OF PUBLIC WORKS IN IRELAND—acting in pursuance and by virtue of the powers vested in US for that purpose by Section 17 of the National Monuments Act, 1930 , and of all other powers enabling us, DO HEREBY ORDER that from and after the date hereof no remains of deceased persons shall be interred within the said National Monument or within a distance of Six Feet measuring from any part thereof as indicated by the chain dotted line on the said Map, and the letters " A ", " B ", " C ", " D ", " E ", " F ", " G ", " H ", " I ", " J ", " K ", " L ", " M ", " N ", " O ", " P ", " Q ", " R ", " S ", " T ", " U ", " V ", " W ", " X ", " Y ", " Z ", " A1 ", " B1 ", " C1 " and " D1 ", excepting the remains of deceased members of the families of those whose names are set out in the Schedule hereto which may be interred in the plots specified and allotted for such purpose and shown numbered One to Ten respectively on the said Map provided that no interment shall be made in any of the said plots within a distance of three feet from the nearest stonework of the National Monument. This Order may be cited as the Hore Abbey National Monument (Prohibition of Burials) Order, One Thousand Nine Hundred and Forty-two.
