THE ELECTORAL (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1942.

DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH.

The Minister for Local Government and Public Health in exercise of the powers vested in him by the Electoral Acts, 1923 to 1935, the Local Government Electors Registration Act, 1924 , as amended by the Local Government (Extension of Franchise) Act, 1935 , and the Juries Act, 1927 , and of all other powers in this behalf enabling him, does hereby order and prescribe as follows, that is to say :—

1. This Order may be cited as the Electoral (Amendment) Order, 1942.

2. This Order and the Electoral Order, 1936, shall be construed as one order and may be collectively cited as the Electoral Orders, 1936 and 1942.

3. The form set forth in the Schedule to this Order shall while this Order continues in force be the prescribed form of Electoral Lists in substitution for the form (Form E A 6) appearing in the First Schedule to the Electoral Order, 1936.

4. This Order shall unless previously revoked continue in force for one year after the Emergency Powers Act, 1939 (No. 28 of 1939), ceases to be in force, and shall then expire.

FORM OF ELECTORS LISTS.

The Electoral Acts, 1923 to 1935, the Local Government Electors Registration Act, 1924 , the Juries Act, 1927 , and the Local Government (Extension of Franchise) Act, 1935 .

The Electors Lists for a registration unit consist of :—

List A.—A copy of the register in force for the unit.

List B.—A list of newly-qualified electors, i.e., persons who appear to be qualified for registration and who are not registered in the register in force or who appear to have become entitled to be registered in a different voting capacity, and of persons who appear to be liable to serve as jurors.

List C.—A list of persons with their numbers in the register, who appear to be no longer qualified as electors, i.e., persons who, being registered in the register in force, appear to have ceased to be qualified for registration or to have become entitled to be registered in a different voting capacity.

Lists A, B and C should be inspected together.

NOTE.

A person whose name appears in List C is not unless such name appears also in List B, a person whose name appears on the electors lists so as to enable such person to object to the registration of any person.

The marks against names in Lists B and C and the divisions in List B have the same meaning as in the Register.

NOTE.

(Not to Appear on the Electors Lists)

Lists A, B and C are to be annexed. List B is to be in the form prescribed for the register.
