Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 17th June, 2022.

I, HEATHER HUMPHREYS, Minister for Social Protection, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (3) of the Social Welfare Act 2021 (No. 44 of 2021), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Social Welfare Act 2021 (Section 20) (Commencement) Order 2022.

2. The 1st day of June 2022 is appointed as the day on which section 20 of the Social Welfare Act 2021 (No. 44 of 2021) shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order provides for the commencement of Section 20 of the Social Welfare Act 2021 from 1 June 2022.

Section 20 provides for the expansion of the list of agri-environmental schemes attracting the specific means disregard applicable to Jobseeker’s Allowance, Farm Assist and State Pension (Non-Contributory).
