S.I. No. 700/2020 - Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (Consequential Provisions) Act 2020 (Part 2) (Commencement) Order 2020


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

I, STEPHEN DONNELLY, Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 (1)(b) of the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (Consequential Provisions) Act 2020 (No. 23 of 2020), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (Consequential Provisions) Act 2020 (Part 2) (Commencement) Order 2020.

2. The 31st day of December 2020 at 11.00 p.m. is appointed as the day on which and the time at which Part 2 of the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (Consequential Provisions) Act 2020 (No. 23 of 2020) shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order commences Part 2 of the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (Consequential Provisions) Act 2020 . Part 2 of this Act amends the 1970 Health Act and provides the Minister for Health with order making powers to give effect to the healthcare arrangements provided for in the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Government of Ireland concerning Common Travel Area healthcare arrangements.
