S.I. No. 462/2020 - Health (General Practitioner Service and Alteration of Criteria for Eligibility) Act 2020 (Section 2) (Commencement) Order 2020


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 30th October, 2020.

I, STEPHEN DONNELLY, Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 7 (3) of the Health (General Practitioner Service and Alteration of Criteria for Eligibility) Act 2020 (No.11 of 2020), with the consent of the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, hereby order as follows:

1. This order may be cited as the Health (General Practitioner Service and Alteration of Criteria for Eligibility) Act 2020 (Section 2) (Commencement) Order 2020.

2. The 1st day of November 2020 is appointed as the day on which section 2 of the Health (General Practitioner Service and Alteration of Criteria for Eligibility) Act 2020 (No. 11 of 2020) comes into operation.

The Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform consents to the making of the foregoing Order.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation).

This Order appoints 1 November 2020 as the day on which Section 2 of the Health (General Practitioner Service and Alteration of Criteria for Eligibility) Act 2020 comes into operation, which provides for increases to the gross income limits for medical card eligibility for persons aged 70 or older.
