S.I. No. 157/2019 - County Of Kerry Local Electoral Areas And Municipal Districts (Amendment) Order 2019

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 19th April, 2019.

I, JOHN PAUL PHELAN, Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 23 of the Local Government Act 2001 (No. 37 of 2001) and having regard to section 28 (1)(d) of the Local Government Reform Act 2014 (No. 1 of 2014) and the Housing, Planning and Local Government (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order 2017 ( S.I. No. 473 of 2017 ), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the County of Kerry Local Electoral Areas and Municipal Districts (Amendment) Order 2019.

2. Article 4 of the County of Kerry Local Electoral Areas and Municipal Districts Order 2018 (S.I. 619 of 2018) is amended by the substitution of the following paragraph for paragraph (a):

(a) “The Municipal District of Castleisland – Corca Dhuibhne consisting of the Local Electoral Area of Castleisland and the Local Electoral Area of Corca Dhuibhne;”.

3. The Schedule attached to the County of Kerry Local Electoral Areas and Municipal Districts Order 2018 (S.I. 619 of 2018) is amended by the substitution of “Corca Dhuibhne” for “An Daingean” in column 1 of the Schedule.

The effect of this Order is to amend the name of the An Daingean LEA to Corca Dhuibhne LEA and to change the name of An Daingean-Castleisland Municipal District to Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne Municipal District.
