S.I. No. 211/2017 - Vehicle Clamping Act 2015 (Commencement) Order 2017.

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 26th May, 2017.

I, SHANE ROSS, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Vehicle Clamping Act 2015 (No. 13 of 2015), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Vehicle Clamping Act 2015 (Commencement) Order 2017.

2. The day fixed as the day on which the following provisions of the Vehicle Clamping Act 2015 (No. 13 of 2015), come into operation—

(a) namely—

(i) Part 1 (sections 1 to 6), and

(ii) in Part 2, sections 7, 8, 10, 11(2), (3) and (7) and 15(1), (3), (4) and (5),

is 1 June 2017,

and

(b) namely—

(i) in Part 2, sections 9, 11(1), (4), (5) and (6), 12, 13, 14, 15(2), (6) and (7), 16 and 17, and

(ii) Parts 3, (sections 18 to 22), 4 (sections 23 to 31), 5 (sections 32 and 33) and 6 (sections 34 to 37),

is 1 October 2017.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation)

This Order appoints 1 June as the date on which Part 1 ( sections 1 to 6 ), and in Part 2, sections 7 , 8 , 10 , 11 (2), (3) and (7) and 15 (1), (3), (4) and (5) of the Vehicle Clamping Act 2015 come into operation. Commencement of those sections will inter alia facilitate the publication by the National Transport Authority of relevant draft Regulations for the purposes of public consultation.

The Order appoints 1 October as the date on which all other Parts and sections of the Act come into operation.
