I, MARY MITCHELL O’CONNOR, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 74 (1) of the Industrial and Provident Societies Act 1893 (56 & 57 Vict., c. 39) and section 2 of the Registry of Friendly Societies Act 1936 (No. 51 of 1936) (as adapted by the Enterprise, Trade and Innovation (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2011 ( S.I. No. 245 of 2011 )), hereby make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Industrial and Provident Societies (Notice of Petition for Appointment of an Examiner to an Industrial and Provident Society) (Form) Regulations 2017.

(2) These Regulations come into effect on 1 May 2017.

2. Where an application by petition has been made to the Circuit Court or the High Court pursuant to Part 10 of the Companies Act 2014 (No. 38 of 2014) and section 16 of the Friendly Societies and Industrial and Provident Societies (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2014 (No. 19 of 2014) for the appointment of an Examiner to an Industrial and Provident Society, the form specified in the Schedule shall be used as the Notice of Petition to the Registrar of Friendly Societies to advise the Registrar of such appointment.

The purpose of these Regulations is to set the prescribed form to be used when notifying the Registrar of Friendly Societies of the Notice of Petition for Appointment of an Examiner to an Industrial and Provident Society.
