I, SHANE ROSS, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 5 of the Road Traffic Act 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) and section 4 (as amended by section 8 of the Road Traffic Act 2016 (No. 21 of 2016)) of the Road Traffic Act 2010 (No. 25 of 2010) (as adapted by the Transport (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2011 ( S.I. No. 141 of 2011 )), hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic Act 2010 (Medical Exemption Certificate) Regulations 2017.

2. The form set out in the Schedule is prescribed for the purposes of section 4(1B) (inserted by section 8 of the Road Traffic Act 2016 (No. 21 of 2016)) of the Road Traffic Act 2010 (No. 25 of 2010).

I, the undersigned, being a person registered in the Register of Medical Practitioners established under section 43 (1) of the Medical Practitioners Act 2007 , hereby certify that the individual named below was prescribed a lawfully prescribed medicinal cannabinoid containing 9-Tetrahydrocannabinol on the [insert date], for a period of [insert duration of prescription].
