S.I. No. 441/2016 - Greyhound Industry (Control Committee and Control Appeal Committee) (Amendment) Regulations, 2016.


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 9th August, 2016.

Bord na gCon in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 13 of the Greyhound Industry Act 1958 (No. 12 of 1958), as amended by Section 9 of the Horse and Greyhound Racing (Betting Charges and Levies) Act 1999 (No. 24 of 1999), and also by sub-section (3) of Section 5 of the said 1958 Act, hereby makes the following regulations, that is to say—

1. These regulations may be cited as the Greyhound Industry (Control Committee and Control Appeal Committee) (Amendment) Regulations, 2016

2. The Greyhound Industry (Control Committee and Control Appeal Committee) Regulations, 2007 to 2015 and these Regulations may be cited together as the Greyhound Industry (Control Committee and Control Appeal Committee) Regulations, 2007 to 2016.

3. Article 6(1) of the Greyhound Industry (Control Committee and Control Appeal Committee) Regulations, 2007 is hereby amended by the addition of the following paragraph after paragraph (vi):

“(vii) To determine appeals against a refusal to grant or renew, or a revocation of, a Kennelhand Authorisation by the Board under Article 5 (13) of the racing regulations.”

4. These regulations shall come into effect on the 1st day of September, 2016.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The effect of these regulations is to amend the Greyhound Industry (Control Committee and Control Appeal Committee) Regulations, 2007 so as enable the Control Committee and the Control Appeal Committee determine appeals by an applicant for, or holder of, a Kennelhand Authorisation against a refusal by the Board to grant or renew, or a revocation by the Board of, such authorisation.
