Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 12th September, 2014.

I, ALEX WHITE, Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (6) of section 1 of the Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2014 (No. 29 of 2014), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2014 (Commencement) (No. 2) Order 2014.

2. The 31st day of October 2014 is appointed as the day on which Part 4 of the Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2014 (No. 29 of 2014) shall come into operation.

This Order brings Part 4 of the Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2014 (No. 29 of 2014) into operation on 31 October 2014.

The Act provides for the amendment of the laws relating to media mergers.
