S.I. No. 66/2013 - Statistics (Community Innovation Survey) Order 2013.

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 26th February, 2013.

I, ENDA KENNY, Taoiseach, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 25 (1) of the Statistics Act 1993 (No. 21 of 1993) and in order to give further effect to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No. 995/2012 of 26 November 20121 , hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Statistics (Community Innovation Survey) Order 2013.

2. (1) In this Order—

“forms and questionnaires” means the forms and questionnaires referred to in Article 6(a);

“survey” means the Community Innovation Survey 2012 that is conducted by the Central Statistics Office and required by Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No. 995/2012 of 26 November 20121 .

(2) A word or expression that is used in this Order and also used in Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No. 995/2012 has the same meaning in this Order as in that Regulation, except where the context otherwise requires.

3. The survey shall be known and referred to as the Community Innovation Survey 2012.

4. This Order applies to an undertaking that is required by the Central Statistics Office to participate in the survey and—

(a) engages 10 or more persons, and

(b) is classified for statistical purposes under section B, C, D, E, G, H, J, K and M of NACE Rev. 2, as set out in Annex IV to Regulation (EC) No. 973/2007.

5. Each undertaking to which this Order applies is required to provide information to the Central Statistics Office for the purposes of the survey, the general nature of which is specified in the Schedule.

6. An undertaking required by this Order to provide information to the Central Statistics Office shall provide such information—

(a) by the completion of forms and questionnaires prepared by the Director General in accordance with section 23 of the Act, and

(b) where directions under section 26 of the Act have been given to the undertaking, in accordance with those directions.

SCHEDULE

Information in relation to the years 2010 to 2012, regarding any or all of the following:

(a) general information on the business activity;

(b) product (good or service) innovation;

(c) process innovation;

(d) ongoing or abandoned innovation activities for process and product innovations;

(e) activities and expenditures for process and product innovations;

(f) sources of information and co-operation for product and process innovation;

(g) competitiveness of undertaking’s product and process innovation;

(h) organisational innovation;

(i) marketing innovation;

(j) particulars of time taken to complete the questionnaire or form.
