S.I. No. 476/2012 - Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) (Amendment) Regulations 2012.


Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 4th December, 2012.

The Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 12 of the Roads Act 1920 and section 1 of the Finance (Excise Duties) (Vehicles) Act 1952 (No. 24 of 1952), hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) (Amendment) Regulations 2012.

(2) These Regulations and the Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) Regulations 1992 to 2008 shall be construed as one and may be cited together as the Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) Regulations 1992 to 2012.

(3) These Regulations shall come into operation on 6 December 2012.

2. The Road Vehicles (Registration and Licensing) (Amendment) Regulations 1992 ( S.I. No. 385 of 1992 ) are hereby amended:—

(1) by the substitution of the amount “€119” for “€99” in sub-article (2) of Article 15 and sub-article (1) of Article 26.

The purpose of the Regulations is to provide a technical change increasing the threshold from €99 to €119, above which a person can get a refund of motor tax and obtain a half-year or quarterly tax disc.
