EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

These regulations restore the requirements set out in the Electoral Regulations 2007 in relation to the specified documents which a voter may be required to produce at a polling station and the photographic identification documents required to be produced by a person assenting to the nomination of a non-party candidate (by signing and completing a statutory declaration) in order to reflect requirements appropriate to a Dáil election.
