S.I. No. 738/2003 - Education and Science (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) (No. 2) Order 2003

The Government, on the request of the Minister for Education and Science and in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment (No. 2) Act 1977 (No. 28 of 1977), hereby order as follows:

1.         This Order may be cited as the Education and Science (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) (No. 2) Order 2003.

2.         The powers and duties of the Minister for Education and Science conferred on that Minister of the Government by or under -

(a)       The Children Acts 1908 to 1989, and

(b)       The Children Act 2001 (No. 24 of 2001),

other than such powers or duties that require that Minister to give his or her agreement to the exercise of any power or duty by another Minister, are delegated to Brian Lenihan, Minister of State at the Department of Education and Science.

3.         The Education and Science (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order 2003 ( S.I. No. 526 of 2003 ) is revoked.
