S.I. No. 442/2003 - Intoxicating Liquor Act 1962 (Section 9) Order 2003

I, MICHAEL McDOWELL, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 9 (2) of the Intoxicating Liquor Act 1962 (No. 21 of 1962 and the Justice (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 1997 ( S.I. No. 298 of 1997 ), order as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Intoxicating Liquor Act 1962 (Section 9) Order 2003.

2. This Order shall come into operation on 29 September 2003.

3. The sum of €9.00 is fixed for the purposes of section 9 (1) of the Intoxicating Liquor Act 1962 .

4. The Intoxicating Liquor Act 1962 (Section 9) Order 1979 ( S.I. No. 211 of 1979 ) is revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This order provides that for the purposes of the Licensing Acts and the Registration of Clubs Acts the minimum guideline price for a substantial meal will be increased to €9.00 with effect from 29 September 2003 in substitution for the £2.00 provided in the Intoxicating Liquor Act 1962 (Section 9) Order 1979 ( S.I. No. 211 of 1979 ).
