S.I. No. 419/2003 - Diseases of Animals Act 1966 (Classical Swine Fever) (Restriction on Imports From Germany) (Amendment) Order 2003


I, Joe Walsh, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 30 of the Diseases of Animals Act 1966 (No. 6 of 1966) (as adapted by the Agriculture, Food and Rural Development (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2002 ( S.I. No. 306 of 2002 )), for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Decision 2003/526/EC of 18 July 20031 (to the extent that the Commission Decision relates to Germany), hereby order as follows -

1.       This Order may be cited as the Diseases of Animals Act 1966 (Classical Swine Fever) (Restriction on Imports from Germany) (Amendment) Order 2003.

2.       The Diseases of Animals Act 1966 (Classical Swine Fever) (Restriction on Imports from Germany) Order 2003 ( S.I. No. 34 of 2003 ) is amended, in Article 2-

(a)       by the substitution for the definition of

“Commission Decision”, of —

“ ‘Commission Decision’ means Commission Decision 2003/526/EC of 18 July 2003 (to the extent that the Commission Decision relates to Germany);”, and

(b)       by the substitution for the definition of

“restricted area”, of —

“ ‘restricted area’ means that part of the territory of Germany described in the Annex to the Commission Decision;”.
