S.I. No. 293/2003 - Local Authorities (Declaration of Offices) Order, 2003

The Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by subsection (1) of section 2 of the Local Authorities (Officers and Employees) Act, 1926 , as amended by section 11 of the Local Government Act, 1998 , with the concurrence of the Local Appointments Commissioners, hereby orders as follows -

1.       This Order may be cited as the Local Authorities (Declaration of Offices) Order, 2003

2.       In this Order, the “Act” means the Local Authorities (Officers and Employees) Act, 1926 .

3.       Every permanent office and employment under a local authority in respect of which the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government is the appropriate Minister for the purpose of Section 156 of the Local Government Act, 2001 , the maximum salary for which is not less than the maximum salary for the time being for the office or employment of Senior Executive Engineer, is hereby declared to be an office to which the Act applies.
