S.I. No. 643/2002 - European Communities (Agricultural Or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) (Amendment) Regulations 2002

I, Joe Walsh, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving effect to Directive 2000/25/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 May 2000¹ , hereby make the following regulations:

1.   These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval)(Amendment) Regulations 2002.

2.   The definition of “type approval requirements” in the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) Regulations 1979 ( S.I. No. 137 of 1979 ) shall be construed in accordance with Article 4.5 of Directive 2000/25/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 May 2000.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation).

These Regulations extend the period by which agricultural and forestry tractors must reduce gaseous and particulate pollutants in accordance with Directive 2000/25/EC for the purposes of type approval.
