S.I. No. 83/2002 - European Communities (Identification and Registration of Bovine Animals) (Amendment) Regulations, 2002
I, Joe Walsh, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving effect to Council Directive 97/12 (EC) (1) of 17 March 1997, Council Regulation (EC) No. 820/97 (2) of 21 April 1997 as repealed by Council Regulation (EC) 1760/2000 (3) of 17 July 2000, Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1678/98 of 29 July 1998 (4) , Commission Regulation (EC) No. 2628/97 of 29 December 1997 (5) , Commission Regulation (EC) No. 2629/97 of 29 December 1997 (6) , Commission Regulation (EC) No. 2630/97 of 29 December 1997 (7) and Commission Regulation (EC) No. 494/98 (8) of 27 February 1998 insofar as they relate to the identification of animals and the issue of animal passports, hereby make the following Regulations :- 1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Identification and Registration of Bovine Animals) (Amendment Regulations, 2002 | ||||||||||
(2) These Regulations shall come into force on the 19th day of March 2002. 2. In these Regulations the “1999 Regulations” means the European Communities (Identification and Registration of Bovine Animals) Regulations, 1999 ( S.I. No 276 of 1999 ) 3. Regulation 2 (1) of the 1999 Regulations is hereby amended by the insertion of the following : | ||||||||||
“animal event sheet” means the document set out in the Seventh Schedule insofar as it relates to Section 1a and the Declaration for National Bovine Animal Birth Registration of that document ; 4. Regulation 3 of the 1999 Regulations is hereby amended by the addition of the following subparagraphs : | ||||||||||
“ or | ||||||||||
(d) return the information required on the application form in an electronic format as may be determined by the Minister, or | ||||||||||
or | ||||||||||
(e) complete and return an animal event sheet to the National Calf Birth Registration Service.” 5. The 1999 Regulations are hereby amended by the addition of the Seventh Schedule annexed hereto. | ||||||||||
