S.I. No. 305/2001 - Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 2001, (Commencement) Order, 2001

I, Micheál Martin, Minister for Health and Children, in the exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 5 of the Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 2001 (No 14 of 2001) hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 2001 (Commencement) Order, 2001.

2. The 1st day of July, 2001 is hereby appointed as the day on which section 1 (1)(a) of the Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 2001 , shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order appoints the 1st day of July, 2001 as the date for the coming into operation of section 1 (1)(a) of the Health (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 2001 . Section 1(1)(a) amends section 45 of the Health Act, 1970 by providing that full eligibility shall be extended to all persons aged 70 years and over.
