Falsification of register.

67.—A person who makes or causes to be made a false entry in the Register, or falsely claims, in writing or otherwise, something to be a copy or reproduction of an entry in the Register, or produces or tenders or causes to be produced or tendered in evidence any such thing, knowing or having reason to believe the entry or thing to be false, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable—

(a) on summary conviction, to a fine not exceeding €1,905 (£1,500) or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months, or both, or

(b) on conviction on indictment, to a fine, or to imprisonment, or both.
