S.I. No. 355/2000 - Freedom of Information Act, 1997 (Prescribed Bodies) (No. 3) Regulations, 2000.


I, CHARLIE McCREEVY, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Freedom of Information Act, 1997 (No. 13 of 1997), and, to the extent that these regulations relate to the respective functions of the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs, the Minister for Health and Children, the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands, the Minister for the Environment and Local Government and the Minister for Public Enterprise, with the consent of those Ministers, hereby make the following regulations with respect to which, pursuant to section 3(3) of that Act, a draft has been laid before each House of the Oireachtas and a resolution approving of the draft has been passed by each such House:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Freedom of Information Act, 1997 (Prescribed Bodies) (No. 3) Regulations, 2000.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on 21 October, 2000.

2. The following bodies shall stand prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 1(5) of the First Schedule to the Freedom of Information Act, 1997 (No. 13 of 1997):

The Combat Poverty Agency,

The Social Welfare Tribunal,

Irish Wheelchair Association,

Enable Holistic Services Ireland Limited,

The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Ireland,

The National Council for the Blind of Ireland,

The National Association for the Deaf,

The Cheshire Foundation in Ireland,

An Coimisiún um Raidió agus Teilifís Neamhspleách, or, in the English language, the Independent Radio and Television Commission,

An Chomhairle Ealaíon,

Local Government Computer Services Board,

Comhairle Sábháilteacht Náisiúnta or, in the English language, National Safety Council,

An Comhairle Leabharlanna,

An Cumann Sábháilteacht Uisce or, in the English language, the Irish Water Safety Association,

The Fire Services Council,

Office of the Director of Telecommunications Regulation.

These Regulations prescribe the Combat Poverty Agency, the Social Welfare Tribunal, Irish Wheelchair Association, Enable Holistic Services Ireland Limited, the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Ireland, the National Council for the Blind of Ireland, the National Association for the Deaf, the Cheshire Foundation in Ireland, the Independent Radio and Television Commission, An Comhairle Ealaíon, Local Government Computer Services Board, National Safety Council, an Chomhairle Leabharlanna, the Irish Water Safety Association, the Fire Services Council and the Office of the Director of Telecommunications Regulation as separate public bodies for the purposes of the Freedom of Information Act, 1997 (No. 13 of 1997) by their inclusion in sub-paragraph (5) of paragraph 1 of the First Schedule to that Act.
