S.I. No. 60/2000 - European Communities (Revocation of Trade Sanctions Concerning The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) and Certain Areas of the Republics of Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina) Regulations, 2000.


I, MARY HARNEY, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving full effect to Council Regulation (EC) No. 2382/961 of 9th December, 1996, hereby make the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Revocation of Trade Sanctions concerning the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) and Certain Areas of the Republics of Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina) Regulations, 2000.

2. The European Communities (Prohibition of Trade with the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro)) Regulations, 1993 ( S.I. No. 144 of 1993 ), and the European Communities (Further Discontinuation of Certain Trade with Serb Controlled Areas of Bosnia-Herzegovina) Regulations, 1995 ( S.I. No. 163 of 1995 ), are hereby revoked.

The effect of this Order is to revoke the Statutory Instruments which provided for penalties for breaches of the EU/UN trade embargoes introduced under Council Regulations (EEC) No. 990/93 and (EC) No.2471/94 against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) and certain areas of the Republics of Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
