S.I. No. 369/1999 - Maintenance Allowances (Increased Payment) Regulations, 1999
The Minister for Health and Children, in exercise of the powers vested in him by Section 5 and Section 44 (sub-section 5) of the Health Act, 1947 , (No. 28 of 1947), as adapted by the Health (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order (S.I. 308 of 1997), hereby makes the following regulations:— | ||||||||
Citation. | 1. These regulations may be cited as the Maintenance Allowances (Increased Payment) Regulations, 1999. | |||||||
Rate of Payment. | 2. Where a person is or becomes entitled to payment under sub-section (3) of Section 44 of the Health Act, 1947 in accordance with the Infectious Diseases (Maintenance) Regulations, 1999 ( S.I. No. 157 of 1999 ), any amount so payable in respect of the week ending 3 December 1999 to or in respect of himself or his dependants shall be increased by a sum equal to seventy per cent of that amount or £20.00 whichever is the greater. | |||||||
The Minister for Finance consents to these Regulations. | ||||||||

The effect of these Regulations is to increase, in respect of the week ending 3 December, 1999 the maximum weekly rate of maintenance allowance payable under Section 44 of the Health Act, 1947 by a sum equal to seventy per cent of that amount or £20.00, whichever is the greater. |
