S.I. No. 274/1999 - Civil Service Superannuation (Amendment) Regulations, 1999.


I, CHARLIE McCREEVY, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the Superannuation and Pensions Act, 1976 (No. 22 of 1976), as adapted by the Public Service (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1987 ( S.I. No. 81 of 1987 ) hereby make the following regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Civil Service Superannuation (Amendment) Regulations, 1999.

(2) The Civil Service Superannuation Regulations, 1980 to 1995, and these Regulations may be cited together as the Civil Service Superannuation Regulations, 1980 to 1999.

2. These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of March, 1999.

3. Section 8 of the Superannuation Act, 1887, as amended by section 35 of the Finance Act, 1956 (No. 22 of 1956), and Regulation 2 of the Civil Service Superannuation (Amendment) Regulations, 1995 ( S.I. No. 343 of 1995 ), shall have effect as if the reference therein to £9,000 were a reference to £15,000.
