S.I. No. 99/1999 - European Communities (Agricultural Or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) Regulations, 1999.

I, JOE WALSH, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Directive 98/38/EC⁽¹⁾ of 3 June 1998, Commission Directive 98/39/EC⁽²⁾ of 5 June 1998, Commission Directive 98/40/EC⁽³⁾ of 8 June 1998 and Commission Directive 98/89/EC⁽⁴⁾ of 20 November 1998, in so far as those Directives apply to the type approval of agricultural or forestry tractors and components, hereby make the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) Regulations, 1999.

2. The following Schedule is hereby substituted for Schedule I (inserted by the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) (No. 2) Regulations, 1988 ( S.I. No. 361 of 1988 ) and amended by the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) Regulations, 1989 ( S.I. No. 288 of 1989 ) and by the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) Regulations, 1990 ( S.I. No. 338 of 1990 ) and by the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) Regulations, 1997 ( S.I. No. 446 of 1997 ) and by the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) Regulations, 1998 ( S.I. These Regulations implement the provisions of a number of EU Directives which relate to certain parts and characteristics, maximum design speed and load platforms, rear-view mirrors and steering equipment of agricultural or forestry tractors and correct an error which occurs in the European Communities (Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval) Regulations, 1998 ( S.I. No. 372 of 1998 ).
