IRISH HORSERACING INDUSTRY ACT, 1994

RACECOURSES (PAYMENT OF LEVIES ON COURSE BETS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1998.

The Irish Horseracing Authority in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by subsection (1) of Section 55 of the Irish Horseracing Industry Act, 1994 hereby makes the following Regulations: -

1 Citation and Commencement

1. (a) These Regulations may be cited as the Racecourses (Payment of Levies on Course Bets) (Amendment) Regulations, 1998;

(b) These Regulations shall take effect from the 27th day of September, 1988.

2 Definitions

2. (a) "The Principal Regulations" when used in these Regulations means the Racecourses (Payment of Levies on Course Bets) (Amendment) Regulations, 1997;

(b) Article 2 (a)-(f) (inclusive) of the Racecourses (Payment of Levies on Course Bets) Regulations, 1995 shall apply also to the interpretation of these Regulations;

(c) Nothing in these Regulations shall prejudice the powers and entitlement of the Authority under the Act.

3 Miscellaneous Amendments to Principal Regulations

3. The Principal Regulations are hereby amended as follows: -

(a) by deleting the word "Sunday" in the definition of "week" in Article 2(b) of the Principal Regulations and inserting the word "Saturday" in its place:

(b) by deleting the word "eighteen" in Article 3(c) of the Principal Regulations and inserting the word "nineteen" in its place:

(c) by deleting the words "five days" in Article 3(d) of the Principal Regulations and inserting the words "seven days" in their place;

(d) by deleting the word "Sunday" as set out in line 2 of Form 3b appended to the Principal Regulations and inserting the word "Saturday" in its place.
