REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS AND DEATHS (IRELAND) ACT, 1863 (SECTION 18) (SOUTH EASTERN) ORDER, 1998

An tArd-Chláraitheoir, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 18 of the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863, hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863 (Section 18) (South Eastern) Order, 1998.

2. The existing Registrars Districts of Callan, Castlecomer, Kilmackevogue, Piltown, Thomastown, and Urlingford shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Thomastown.

3. The existing Registrars' Districts of Clonmel and Clogheen shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Clonmel.

4. The existing Registrars' Districts of Carrick-on-Suir and Garrangibbon shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Carrick-on-Suir.

5. The existing Registrars' Districts of Tramore, Woodstown, and Portlaw shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Tramore.

6. The existing Registrars' Districts of Broadway, Wexford No. 1 and Wexford No. 2 shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Wexford.

7. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1999.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The effect of this Order is to amalgamate certain Superintendent Registrars' Districts and Registrars' Districts in the functional area of the South Eastern Health Board so as to reduce the number of such districts in that area.
