URBAN RENEWAL ACT, 1986 (DESIGNATED AREAS) (BALLINASLOE) ORDER, 1994 (RECTIFICATION OF AREA) ORDER, 1997.

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister for the Environment by section 6 (2) of the Urban Renewal Act, 1986 (No. 19 of 1986) which powers are delegated to me by the Environment (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order, 1995 ( S.I. No. 3 of 1995 ), I, LIZ McMANUS, Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Urban Renewal Act, 1986 (Designated Areas) (Ballinasloe) Order, 1994 (Rectification of Area) Order, 1997.

2. The Urban Renewal Act, 1986 (Designated Areas) (Ballinasloe) Order, 1994 is hereby amended by the substitution of the following Schedule for the Schedule thereto.

"SCHEDULE

PART I

In this Schedule—

"thoroughfare" includes any road and street;

a reference to a line drawn along any thoroughfare is a reference to a line drawn along the centre of that thoroughfare;

a reference to the point where any thoroughfare intersects or joins any other thoroughfare is a reference to the point where a line drawn along the centre of one thoroughfare would be intersected or joined by a line drawn along the centre of the other thoroughfare;

a reference to a point where any thoroughfare is intersected by the projection of a boundary is a reference to the point where a line drawn along the centre of such thoroughfare would be intersected by the projection of such boundary.

PART II

Canal Basin Area

That part of the urban district of Ballinasloe bounded by a line commencing at the point (hereafter in this description referred to as the first-mentioned point) where Slí Na hAbhann (also known as the Inner Relief Road) joins Hymany Street, then continuing in a north westerly direction along Hymany Street to the point where it is intersected by the south westerly projection of the north western boundary wall of the premises known locally as Bannerton Motors, then continuing in a north-easterly direction along the said projection to the point where it joins the last mentioned boundary wall, then continuing initially in a south easterly direction along the south western and south eastern boundary walls of the said Bannerton Motors and the north easterly projection of the said south eastern boundary wall to the point where it is intersected by the south easterly projection of the north eastern boundary of number 13 St. Michael's Place, then continuing in a south easterly direction in a straight undefined line to the point where it intersects Slí Na hAbhann at a point 152 metres along Slí Na hAbhann from the first mentioned point, then continuing in a south westerly direction along Slí Na hAbhann to the first-mentioned point.".
