MAXIMUM PRICES (MAGAZINES) ORDER, 1996

The Minister for Enterprise and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 22F (inserted by section 3 of the Prices (Amendment) Act, 1972 (No. 20 of 1972)) of the Prices Act, 1958 (No. 4 of 1958), hereby orders as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Maximum Prices (Magazines) Order, 1996.

(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 17 day of July, 1996.

2. In this Order "magazine" means a periodical, whether for an unspecified period or otherwise, in circulation in the State.

3. The maximum price at which a magazine priced on the cover of the magazine by the publisher in sterling only or in sterling and another currency other than the currency of the State may be sold by retail shall be the equivalent in the currency of the State of the sterling price at the time the magazine is put into circulation in the State increased by 5 per cent. and, where appropriate, the applicable rate of value-added tax.
