PERFORMERS' PROTECTION (FOREIGN COUNTRIES) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1996

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 12 of the Performers' Protection Act, 1968 (No. 19 of 1968), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Performers' Protection (Foreign Countries) (Amendment) Order, 1996.

2. The Performers' Protection (Foreign Countries) Order, 1978 ( S.I. No. 134 of 1978 ) shall have effect as if after the expression "country of the Rome Convention" in Article 2 were added "or of the World Trade Organisation" .

3. The Performers' Protection (Foreign Countries) Order, 1978 ( S.I. No. 134 of 1978 ), is hereby amended by the insertion after sub-paragraph (2) of Article 2 of the following sub-paragraph:

"(3) In this Article "country of the World Trade Organisation" means a country which has ratified or has acceded to the Marrakesh Agreement Establishing the World Trade Organisation Done at Marrakesh on the 15th day of April, 1994.".
