EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (MECHANICALLY PROPELLED VEHICLE EMISSION CONTROL)(AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1995.

The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to the provisions of Council Directive 94/12/EC¹of 23 March, 1994, as it relates to air pollution emission controls on mechanically propelled vehicles, hereby makes the following Regulations.

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Mechanically Propelled Vehicle Emission Control) (Amendment) Regulations, 1995.

(2) These Regulations and the European Communities (Mechanically Propelled Vehicle Emission Control) Regulations, 1995 ( S.I. No. 192 of 1995 ) shall be construed together as one.

2. Article 3 (2) of the European Communities (Mechanically Propelled Vehicle Emission Control) Regulations, 1995 is hereby amended by:—

( a ) the substitution in paragraph (a) for "31st day of December 1995" of "31st day of December 1996", and

( b ) the deletion of paragraph (b).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations alter the transitional technical arrangements for establishing compliance with Directive 94/12/EC, concerning emissions from mechanically propelled vehicles.
