NATIONAL MONUMENTS (EXHIBITION OF RECORD OF MONUMENTS) REGULATIONS, 1994.

I, MICHAEL D. HIGGINS, T.D., Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 12 (2) of the National Monuments (Amendment) Act, 1994 (No. 17 of 1994), hereby make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations, may be cited as the National Monuments (Exhibition of Record of Monuments) Regulations, 1994.

(2) The first day of March, 1995, is hereby fixed as the day on which these Regulations shall come into operation.

2. In these Regulations—

"library authority" means the council of a county and the corporation of a county borough;

"planning authority" means a planning authority for the purposes of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Acts, 1963 to 1993;

"the Act of 1994" means the National Monuments (Amendment) Act, 1994 (No. 17 of 1994).

3. (1) The Commissioners shall cause to be exhibited and to be made available for inspection by members of the public in the offices of planning authorities, and in one library of each library authority, in each county, for a period of not less than three months each year and during the hours when such offices and libraries are open to the public, the list and map or maps in respect of that county referred to in section 12(1) of the Act of 1994.

(2) The Commissioners shall publish in a national newspaper and in at least one other newspaper circulating in that county information about when and where the list and map or maps referred to in paragraph (1) of this Regulation may be consulted.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations prescribe the places where maps and lists of monuments recorded by the Commissioners are to be exhibited, basic publicity arrangements and minimum duration of exhibition in any one year.
