VIDEO RECORDINGS ACT, 1989 (FEES) REGULATIONS, 1994.

I, MÁIRE GEOGHEGAN-QUINN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 , 10 and 18 of the Video Recordings Act, 1989 (No. 22 of 1989), and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Video Recordings Act, 1989 (Fees) Regulations, 1994.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 12th day of May, 1994.

2. In these Regulations "the Act" means the Video Recordings Act, 1989 (No. 22 of 1989).

3. The following fees are hereby prescribed for the purposes of subsection (4) of section 3 of the Act:

( a ) where the applicant indicates to the Official Censor that video recordings containing the video work are, in the first instance, to be released specifically for—

(i) letting on hire to the ultimate consumer — £180.00;

(ii) sale to the ultimate consumer — £80.00.

( b ) where the video work is a preview of a larger video work — £20.00;

( c ) where the video work is an advertisement — £20.00.

4. A fee of £5 is hereby prescribed for the purposes of subsection (3) (b) of section 10 of the Act.

5. A fee of £150 is hereby prescribed for the purposes of subsection (6) of the said section 10.

6. A fee of £4,000 is hereby prescribed for the purposes of subsection (1) of section 18 of the Act.

7. A fee of £100 is hereby prescribed for the purposes of subsection (2) of the said section 18.

8. The Video Recordings Act, 1989 (Fees) (No. 2) Regulations, 1991 ( S.I. No. 221 of 1991 ) are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations prescribe the fees to be charged in relation to applications for supply certificates under section 3, appeals under section 10 and for licences issued under section 18 of the Video Recordings Act, 1989 .
