BRAY URBAN DISTRICT LOCAL ELECTORAL AREAS ORDER, 1994.

The Minister for the Environment, in exercise of the powers vested in him by section 35 of the Local Government Act, 1941 (No. 23 of 1941), hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Bray Urban District Local Electoral Areas Order, 1994.

2. The Bray Urban District Local Electoral Areas Order, 1979 ( S.I. No. 42 of 1979 ) is hereby revoked.

3. In this Order "the Urban District" means the Urban District of Bray as altered for the purposes of local elections by the Local Government (Boundaries) (Town Elections) Regulations, 1994 and references to the urban boundary shall be construed accordingly.

4. The Urban District shall be divided into the local electoral areas set out in the first column of the Schedule to this Order.

5. (1) Each such local electoral area shall consist of the area described in the second column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such local electoral area.

(2) In the Schedule to this Order—

( a ) a reference to a line drawn along any bridge, lane, river, road or street shall be construed as a line drawn along the centre of the bridge, lane, river, road or street;

( b ) a reference to the point at which any bridge, lane, river, road or street joins any bridge, lane, river, road or street shall be construed as a reference to the point at which a line drawn along the centre of the one would be joined by a line drawn along the centre of the other;

( c ) a reference to the point at which any road or river intersects or joins a boundary shall be construed as a reference to the point at which a line drawn along the centre of such road or river intersects or joins such boundary.

6. The number of members of the Council of the Urban District to be elected for each such local electoral area shall be the number set out in the third column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such local electoral area.

Commencing at the easternmost intersection of the Dargle River by the urban boundary; thence in a south-westerly direction along the Dargle river to its intersection by Bray Bridge; thence commencing in a southerly direction and proceeding along Bray Bridge, Main Street and Killarney Road to its junction with Killarney Lane; thence commencing in a north-westerly direction and proceeding along Killarney Lane to its junction with Herbert Road; thence in a south-westerly direction along Herbert Road to its intersection by the imaginary south-easterly projection of the north-eastern boundary of the curtilage of Ardmore Studios; thence in a north-westerly direction along the said imaginary projection and the said boundary to its junction with the north-western boundary of the said curtilage; thence commencing in a southerly direction and proceeding along the last mentioned boundary to its intersection by the northern boundary of the townland of Kilbride; thence commencing in a westerly direction and proceeding along the said townland boundary to its junction with the River Dargle; thence in a south-westerly direction along the River Dargle to its intersection by the Lower Dargle Bridge; thence in a north-westerly direction along the Lower Dargle Bridge and its imaginary north-westerly projection to its intersection by the urban boundary; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along the urban boundary to the starting point.

Number Two

That part of the Urban District situated within a line drawn as follows:—

Commencing at the intersection of Bray Bridge by the River Dargle; thence in a north-easterly direction along the River Dargle to its junction with the urban boundary; thence commencing in a southerly direction and proceeding along the urban boundary to its junction with Vevay Road; thence in a north-westerly direction along Vevay Road to its junction with Main Street, thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along Main Street and Bray Bridge to the starting point.

Number Three

That part of the Urban District situated within a line drawn as follows:

Commencing at the junction of Killarney road and Vevay Road; thence in a south-easterly direction along Vevay Road to its junction with the urban boundary; thence commencing in a south-easterly direction and proceeding along the urban boundary to its intersection by the imaginary north-westerly projection of the Lower Dargle Bridge; thence in a south-easterly direction along the said imaginary projection and the said bridge to its intersection by the River Dargle; thence in a north-easterly direction along the river Dargle to its junction with the northern boundary of the townland of Kilbride; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along the said boundary to the point where it intersects the north-western boundary of the curtilage of Ardmore Studios; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along the said boundary to its junction with the north-eastern boundary of the said curtilage; thence in a south-easterly direction along the last-mentioned boundary and its imaginary south-easterly projection to its intersection by Herbert Road; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along Herbert Road to its junction with Killarney Lane; thence commencing in an easterly direction and proceeding along Killarney Lane to its junction with Killarney Road; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along Killarney Road to the starting point.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order divides the Urban District of Bray into three electoral areas for the purposes of local elections and fixes the number of members of the Council of the Urban District to be elected for each area.
