DUBLIN ELECTORAL COUNTIES (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1994.

The Minister for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 14 of the Local Government (Reorganisation) Act, 1985 (No. 7 of 1985) and by section 33 of the Local Government Act, 1941 (No. 23 of 1941), hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Dublin Electoral Counties (Amendment) Order, 1994.

2. This Order and the Dublin Electoral Counties Order, 1985 ( S.I. No. 133 of 1985 ) shall be construed as one.

3. In this Order:

(1) "the Act of 1993" means the Local Government (Dublin) Act, 1933 (No. 31 of 1993);

(2) "the commissioner" means the Commissioner of Valuation; and

(3) "the Principal Order" means the Dublin Electoral Counties Order, 1985.

4. Part I of the Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby amended by the alteration of the boundaries of the electoral areas of Clondalkin, Lucan, Rathfarnham and Tallaght/ Oldbawn, described in the second column of the said Schedule, to coincide with the boundary of the administrative county of South Dublin as shown on the map prepared by the commissioner pursuant to section 10 of the Act of 1993.

5. Part II of the Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby amended by the alteration of the boundary of the electoral area of Castleknock, described in the second column of the said Schedule, to coincide with the boundary of the administrative county of Fingal as shown on the map prepared by the commissioner pursuant to section 10 of the Act of 1993.

6. Part III of the Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby amended by the alteration of the boundaries of the electoral areas of Clonskeagh and Dundrum, described second column of the said Schedule, to coincide with the boundary of the administrative county of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown as shown on the map prepared by the Commissioner pursuant to section 10 of the Act of 1993.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order alters the boundaries of certain electoral areas described in the Dublin Electoral Counties Order, 1985 to coincide with the boundaries of the administrative counties of South Dublin, Fingal and Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown fixed pursuant to the Local Government (Dublin) Act, 1993 .
