S.I. No. 376/1993 - Industrial Development Act, 1993 (Establishment Day) (Forfás, Forbairt, and Industrial Development Agency (Ireland)) Order, 1993.

I, RUAIRÍ QUINN, Minister for Enterprise and Employment, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 5 of the Industrial Development Act, 1993 , (No. 19 of 1993), hereby order as follows:

1. This order may be cited as the Industrial Development Act, 1993 (Establishment Day) (Forfás, Forbairt and Industrial Development Agency (Ireland)) Order, 1993.

2. The 1st day of January, 1994 is hereby appointed as establishment day for the purposes of the Industrial Development Act, 1993 (No. 19 of 1993).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

This Order appoints the 1st day of January, 1994 as the day on which the provisions of the Industrial Development Act, 1993 shall come into operation.

The purpose of the Industrial Development Act, 1993 is to establish the new State Agency structures for industrial development. Three new bodies will be established: Forfás, Forbairt and IDA (Ireland). The existing agencies, viz. IDA and Eolas, will be dissolved.
