HOLIDAYS (EMPLOYEES) ACT, 1973 (PUBLIC HOLIDAY) REGULATIONS, 1993.

I, RUAIRÍ QUINN, T.D., Minister for Enterprise and Employment, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 14 of, and paragraph 1 (e) of the Schedule to, the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1973 (No. 25 of 1973), and the Industry and Commerce (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1993 ( S.I. No. 19 of 1993 ), hereby make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1973 (Public Holiday) Regulations, 1993.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 4th day of May, 1993.

2. The first Monday in May is hereby appointed to be a public holiday for the purposes of the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1973 (No. 25 of 1973).

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations appoint the first Monday in May to be a public holiday for the purposes of the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1973 with effect from 1994.
